In 1936, Duncan Barbour, third-generation of the family and motorcycle enthusiast, introduced a new cotton waxed jacket: Barbour International. Developed specifically for the motorcycle race "Six Days Trials" (ISDT), the Barbour International jacket became so popular that it was worn by any motorcyclist who raced on the ISDT circuit from the early 1950s to the late 1970s, including actor Steve McQueen, who wore it in the race held in 1964. Today, Barbour International collections, for both men and women, are inspired by that rebellious and rock aesthetic. Motorcycle models and designs are declined in a variety of contemporary materials, alongside the brand's classic waxed cotton, giving shape to a new generation of Barbour's iconicity and history.
