VANS

Vans, universally known as Van Doren Rubber Company, was founded in California, in Anaheim, in 1966 by the brothers Paul and Jim Van Doren, together with their partners Gordon Lee and Serge Delia. The first three models of shoes, including the Vans #44 Deck, known as Authentic, were sold directly to the public from the factory. Only a few years later, the original "Vans Skateboard" logo was created by James Van Doren's thirteen-year-old son, Mark, in Costa Mesa, California. The 1970s were one of the most fruitful periods for the American company, which in these years introduced many new models that are still loved and appreciated by young people all over the world.

The Vans #95, universally known as Era, with padded collar and available in different color combinations, were designed in 1976 by Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta and quickly became the favorite shoes of an entire generation of skaters. The same year, the "Off the Wall" logo made its debut. The Old Skool, also known as Vans #36 and presented to the public in 1977, were born with the famous Vans side stripe, created by a simple doodle by Paul Van Doren, known as "Jazz Stripe", and which later became Vans's true signature. The same year, the Vans Classic Slip-On #98 were launched, which quickly became a success in Southern California, laying the foundation for the original Slip-On model that would become an icon for generations to come.

The year 1978 saw the birth of the Sk8-Hi, with the now iconic Vans side stripe. This model was a real innovation in the world of skateboarding: with its updated and improved features, the Sk8-Hi perfectly protects the ankle, one of the most exposed areas to injuries and knocks from skateboarding. The most iconic Vans model, the Classic Slip-On, with its unmistakable checkerboard pattern, was presented to the world in 1982, when it appeared in the film "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". In 1988, the Vans Steve Caballero were born, which later became one of the most iconic and influential models in skateboarding history.

In 2003, Vans launched the Vault by Vans collection. This line combines high-fashion and sophisticated design with classic and traditional Vans silhouettes. Today, Vault by Vans continues to create innovative partnerships, including collaborations with fashion giants and contemporary artists. Vans also introduced streetwear clothing and sportswear accessories to its catalog. The brand became involved in an increasing number of collaborations - including the one with WP Store in 2023 - created new capsules, and became a partner in international events. The House of Vans project was also inaugurated, a special project focused on creativity and engagement with young generations.
